I just wanted to touch base about the latest chaos with our pay. I want you to know that every email inquiry I received in both my President's email and DOC email, has been printed and is receiving attention. I had no idea how colossal this event was going to be, so my normal personal response to each member would not get out timelier than an all message broadcast. I believe that the few who received no checks at all will have it at their institution today, as I am being told, but the confusion and lack of answers from DOC/DAS is at an all-time high.
There is also an issue of staff receiving a small check in the amount of $5, $10 and other amounts under $50. If you received one, please don't cash it and if at OSP get it back to me and if it has happened at OSCI or SFFC, please return to your timekeeper/payroll person.
I am aware of rather large overpayments. Please know this is not your fault, nor your job to find the errors to know exactly what the amount over paid is. If you fall in this category, you can utilize a payment plan, negotiated with your comfortable repayment amount over the next 12 months as this is not our error. You can do this through your payroll person. If, for any reason, they are not accommodating to your circumstances, please let me know. Myself, or one of your board members will be able to handle it.
I am awaiting their response on how long it will take them to figure all this out as the issues continue to grow. Apparently, it has caused problems with many other state agencies as well.
